For this reason, to combat problem gaming we have taken a proactive approach that meets with our expected standards and long term commitment. Venetian Macau Ltd. has implemented a self-exclusion program since 2004, which allows any patron to exclude himself or herself from our properties if they choose to do so. Venetian Macau Ltd. also strictly prohibits underage gaming and refuses admission into gaming areas to anyone under 18 years of age. Partnering with experts, scholars, and doctors, we have created a program that not only provides problem gamers with a means to seek help, but also teaches our Team Members how to direct guests to obtain help and to have a proper and full understanding of the importance of establishing a corporate culture of responsibility.

SIGNS OF PROBLEM GAMING

Most experts agree that there is no certain way to identify a problem gamer. However, it is important for each individual to be able to recognize the warning signs. These signs include, but are not limited to:

 
Gaming longer than planned
 
Gaming until the last dollar is gone
 
Losing sleep due to gaming
 
Using income or savings to game while letting bills go unpaid
 
Being unsuccessful in attempts to stop gaming
 
Borrowing money to finance gaming
 
Breaking the law, or considering breaking the law to finance gaming
 
Feeling depressed or suicidal because of gaming losses
 
Feeling remorse after gaming
 
Gaming to try to obtain money to meet financial obligations
 
According to psychiatric professionals, if someone suffers from five or more of these symptoms, he or she may be suffering from a gaming problem.

HELP IS AVAILABLE
Resources are available to help you or someone you know to receive the appropriate support. Caring and knowledgeable counselors will provide information on available treatment and support resources for both the gamer and those affected by the gamer’s problem.

MINORS IN NON-GAMING AREAS ONLY
If you are accompanied by children or young adults, please keep in mind that Macao law prohibits anyone less than 18 years of age from entering gaming areas. The Venetian Resort-Macao-Hotel is home of the Grand Canal Shoppes, a vast array of restaurants and the renowned V Spa & V Gym.
